FinTech
We have represented both financial services firms that deploy technology platforms and the technology platform providers themselves. The Wave Law® team is adept at structuring and negotiating transactions with complex financial provisions and multi-year implementation and roll-out schedules across the enterprise. We work hand-in-hand with regulatory counsel to ensure that the transaction is structured consistent with law and regulations, and has the flexibility to adapt to changes in law. Our team has worked both as in-house counsel and external counsel to major financial services firms, and to providers of banking technologies used by such firms. As such, we understand well the risks and goals from both vantage points.
We have also advised insurers and financial institutions on matters relating to sunsetting of existing information technology systems that have failed to perform or to keep up with industry/technology developments. In such cases, we have advised senior management and Boards regarding risk management and transition-related technology and contract issues.
