Software, Digital Media & Tech Platforms
We have represented clients from enterprise software companies to start-ups in a broad range of technology-focused transactions. Along the way, we have worked with many different technology providers and licensors, as well as buyers and licensees of technology products and services. We have worked with complex web-based platforms and applications that offer and sell goods and services, content, data and tools on a software-as-a-service (SaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS), infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), or other subscription basis. We also have deep experience with open source software and the various licenses under which the software is distributed. We have helped entrepreneurs and seasoned businesses develop new licensing models and later shift and refine them as their businesses and technologies evolved. We structure, draft and negotiate contracts relating to technology development, licensing and distribution, collaboration, sponsorship, promotion and advertising.
