WORKING WITH PERRONE ROBOTICS
Perrone Robotics, Inc. is a pioneer in the autonomous vehicle (AV) industry, having been involved in the historic DARPA races – the DARPA Grand Challenge and Urban Challenge – that gave the initial impetus for the formation of the industry. One of our members, Michael, has assisted Perrone Robotics with its legal matters from an early stage in the life of the company.
Since then, Perrone Robotics has gone on to develop AVs for itself and for various OEMS in the U.S. and overseas. Using its mature robotics software platform MAX®, the company has successfully delivered autonomy to a whole range of vehicles, from premium-brand SUVs to low-speed electric vehicles. The company has embodied MAX® inside a revolutionary new product called TONY™. TONY™ is a retrofit kit bringing autonomous driving to virtually any stock vehicle, and one operating in defined zone/defined route applications such as campuses, logistics yards, military bases, and neighborhoods.
Among the many AV projects that the company has underway are one involving a mid-sized electric transit van developed for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority for use in routes in downtown Jacksonville, Florida, and another involving neighborhood electric vehicles (Polaris GEMs) running autonomous routes on a U.S. Army base year-round in Colorado. We are very excited to see our client launch these exciting and impressive projects, and hope to be there to counsel and assist them with various transactional matters in the AV space for many years to come!
“Mike has been invaluable in helping us structure and negotiate our key deals. He has given us the expertise of a major law firm partner, which he was, at a fraction of the cost of one. He knows what key issues to focus on to manage risk, and get deals done. Looking forward to working with Wave Law!”
